B. Braun China lends a helping hand to children with learning disabilities
B. Braun China continued fulfilling its commitment to helping physically disadvantaged children in the community it operates, by donating boxes of study and sports goods to the Shanghai Changning District Special Education School. This CSR activities is a follow-up of B. Braun Asia Pacific Virtual Charity Run.
The school, which was established in 1979, is the first educational institution for mentally-challenged and autistic children in China. Mrs. Julie Zhao, HR VP of B. Braun Greater China, together with eight B. Braun volunteers from the Shanghai Office, visited the school in September. On behalf of B. Braun China, Mrs. Zhao handed over the donations and signed a long-term charity supporting agreement with the school.
After the ceremony, the volunteers accompanied the children to make traditional Chinese lanterns on the occasion of the Mid-autumn Festival for health and good luck.
A similar donation activity was also organized in B. Braun Shenyang Office in October and more activities are being planned in other cities where the Covid-19 pandemic situation has becomes better.
These CSR activities are a follow-up of B. Braun Asia Pacific Virtual Charity Run, which aims to raise social awareness and help disadvantaged children in the region. More than 1,200 Chinese employees joined the run and achieved a total of 60,000KM in just one month. In total, approximately 2,111 B. Braun employees from 33 countries came together over a course of 3 months to achieve a total of 301,526KM collectively.
