B. Braun is Digital Transformer of the Year
B. Braun has won the “Digital Transformer of the Year” award, which was presented for the first time ever, in the category “Life Sciences.”
Berlin. An expert jury selected the best companies from suggestions of 1,100 representatives from industry, customer bases and the media. Making transformation successes visible and comparable and then inspiring companies to promote these within their own organizations was the idea behind the newly created award “Digital Transformer of the Year”, which was presented yesterday evening in Berlin. The specialist publishing house, Vogel Business Media, the _MEDIATE Group and the Steinbeis School of Management and Innovation from Steinbeis-Hochschule Berlin had given away the awards in five categories: automotive, industry, life science, media and financial services.
Those nominated were, among others, Audi, Continental, Bosch, Siemens, Axel Springer or Commerzbank. B. Braun was able to prevail in the category “Life Sciences” over BASF.
“We are very happy about this award, which we accepted on behalf of everyone who is pushing forward the digitalization at B. Braun,” says Dr. Bernadette Tillmanns-Estorf, Senior Vice President Corporate Communications and Corporate Human Resources at B. Braun.
“Successful digital transformation doesn’t only require new business models and products, rather it distinguishes itself mostly through a change in the company culture. This award shows us that we at B. Braun are on a good path with this process,” explains Tillmanns-Estorf.
“Digitalization is a task that we have to push in all divisions of the company,” emphasized Klaus-Dieter Pannes, Senior Vice President Operational Excellence at B. Braun. “This is the only way for us to be able to successfully increase the necessary potential and remain sustainable and competitive with innovative ideas and solutions,” according to Pannes.
An expert jury had previously selected the best companies from suggestions submitted by 1,100 surveyed parties. The background was a broadly applied initiative from the organizers, who are to first measure the degree of digital transformation in Germany and then increase it. The initiative carried out a cross-industry online survey in which, above all, technical and managerial personnel took part.
